About This Nursery

The “root” of Wild Roots was incubated when Trecia Neal started Green Gardens Education and Designs in 2017. As the business grew, Trecia wanted to help provide plants to people interested in adding wildlife-friendly, drought-tolerant native plants to their landscapes. Realizing that she couldn’t do this on her own, Trecia teamed up with Stephanie Spencer a tireless gardener, and award-winning STEM educator with an insatiable devotion to native plants and pollinators, joined Trecia in the enterprise they named Wild Roots Native Nursery to form Wild Roots Native Nursery – Rooted in Sustainability. Wild Roots offers perennials, sedges, native grasses, shrubs, and trees that are native to Georgia. They aim to propagate native plant species that conscientious gardeners need to create thriving ecosystems in their own backyards. The heart of Wild Roots Native Nursery is its founders' determined commitment to fostering a revival of native plant gardening. Trecia and Stephanie, with dirt under their fingernails, want to educate their communities (and beyond) about how native plants are best conditioned to thrive, attract pollinators and other wildlife, enhance the environment, help address erosion issues, and add natural beauty to every landscape.
