If a mower cannot move properly then it is a big problem for the user. Well, for Cat 1 and Cat 2 this isn’t much of a problem.

Both have smooth and fast driving speeds. Cat 1 can drive at 10 mph speed and keep mowing while it goes. It can run in reverse at a decent speed.

On the other hand, the top speed of Cat 2 is 12 mph which is excellent and standard for a mower. Anything over this speed range is not good for mowing. It can also drive in reverse.

Hence, Cat 2 is better at speed.

Tire size is important when you are changing it and when you are driving the mower. A good-sized mower will balance the mower perfectly.

Both Cat 1 and Cat 2 have 24- and 12-inches tires which are quite standard for a mower its size. Hence, both are the winner here as they have similar kinds of tires.

Cutting width tells a lot about the mower. A big cutting width will help you clean the field quickly and efficiently. It will also reduce fuel costs and labor.

The Cat 1 has a standard 52 inches cutting deck which can cover a lot of areas quickly.

The Cat 2 has an enormous 61 inches cutting width which can be really helpful when you need to cover a lot of areas.

It turns out that, Cat 2 is more efficient and more powerful when it comes to cutting deck size. Hence, it wins this section.

6. Weight:

Wight can be a major issue while buying a mower. Many people think a heavy mower is better for commercial use while others say the opposite. What I think is that a standard weight is better than a heavy or light mower.

Cat 1 has 1175 lbs weight which is a decent one for the mower size. And Cat two weighs a bit more (1257 lbs) which is even better than Cat 1.

When looking to purchase a mower, the transmission should be given a lot of consideration. A reliable transmission is essential in order to do work that is both simple and effective.

Now, both Cat 1 and Cat 2 have gear-based transmission and it’s the gear on the tractor that transfers power from the engine to the wheels, and it goes by this name.

In addition to this, it is responsible for regulating the torque as necessary and adapting to the current conditions in order to achieve the best possible acceleration of the tractor.

Fuel capacity is important for a commercial mower. If you want to cover a large field then you need a good mower with enough fuel capacity.

Keeping it in mind, Cat 1 has an 8.5-gal fuel capacity and Cat 2 has a 9.5-gal fuel capacity. It is enough to run the mower for many hours straight.

If you look carefully both of the mowers have many similarities. But when have to pick one from them then there are some differences which can make you choose one over the other.

Cat 1 has a decent engine and engine power along with a good transmission, starter, battery, and also long-time warranty.
