This is a "starter" list of native plants for California and Nevada. It is intended for residential or commercial landscapers who want to create attractive and varied native landscapes. The region runs from coastal bluffs, chaparral and oak woodland through the Sierra Nevada to the Great Basin and the Mojave and Colorado deserts, so check each plant’s profile for where it is native and choose plants suited to your own climate, elevation and soil.
